Wasafati ("Wasafati", "we", "our", or "us") helps you save recipe links, turn supported recipe sources into organized Arabic recipes, plan meals, and create grocery lists.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we process, why we process it, and the choices you have.
Information Stored On Your Device
Wasafati may store the following information locally on your device:
- Saved recipes, including titles, ingredients, steps, images, and source links.
- Meal plan entries.
- Grocery list items.
- Onboarding choices and app preferences.
- A local flag for free import usage, if available.
This information is primarily stored on your device. If you delete the app or clear local data, this local information may be removed.
Information We Process For Recipe Extraction
When you paste or share a recipe link, we may send the submitted URL and limited source information, such as page metadata, captions, titles, or relevant recipe text, to our backend and AI service provider to generate an organized recipe.
The AI-generated recipe may include ingredients, steps, cooking time, servings, difficulty, category, source link, and quality warnings. Please review AI-generated recipes before cooking. AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Purchases And Subscriptions
If you subscribe to Wasafati Premium, purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, restore purchases, and understand whether premium features should be unlocked.
We do not receive your full payment card details.
Analytics And Diagnostics
We may collect limited analytics and diagnostic information to improve the app, understand which features are used, detect crashes, and fix extraction failures. This may include:
- App version and device/platform information.
- Anonymous install or app user identifiers.
- Feature events, such as import started, import succeeded or failed, recipe saved, paywall viewed, and purchase status events.
- Error codes, crash reports, and performance data.
- Source category, such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, website, or unknown.
We do not intentionally send full recipe text, ingredients, steps, grocery list text, or meal plan text to analytics tools.
Support
If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message.
Third-Party Services
Wasafati may use third-party service providers to operate the app:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit for purchases.
- RevenueCat for subscription management.
- An AI provider, such as Google Gemini, for recipe extraction.
- Cloudflare for backend hosting, routing, and rate limiting.
- PostHog for product analytics.
- Sentry for crash and error monitoring.
These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.
How We Use Information
- Provide recipe extraction and app features.
- Save and display your recipes on your device.
- Manage premium subscription access.
- Prevent abuse and control AI extraction costs.
- Improve app quality and reliability.
- Respond to support requests.
- Comply with legal and App Store requirements.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your recipe content for third-party advertising. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Age
Wasafati is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18.
Data Retention
Local recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists remain on your device until you delete them, clear local data, or uninstall the app.
Backend logs, if used, should be limited to operational information such as request ID, source category, error code, duration, and domain. We aim not to store full recipe text or full URLs in logs.
Support emails are kept as long as needed to respond and maintain support records.
Your Choices
- Delete individual recipes in the app.
- Clear local app data if this feature is available.
- Uninstall the app to remove local data from your device.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
